The Junior Project Manager supports and/or leads cross-functional projects by collecting data and documenting processes. This role is the main contact for all assigned projects. The Junior Project Manager meets with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand the tools and systems they use. Must be able to ask clearly and confidently
anystakeholderWHY about everything, (ex: their processes, goals, timelines, assumed solutions etc.). The role delivers projects on time meeting quality standards and supports Continuous Improvement Team initiatives as needed. The Junior Project Manager identifies process issues, finds root causes, and recommends improvements. All work supports Business Unit plans, LexisNexis® Risk Solutions strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement. In partnership with leadership, the Junior Project Manager helps drive change and improve customer outcomes.
Accountabilities
- Support cross-functional projects
- Understand/learn how systems connect and how data moves between them.
- Ability to learn how to document process flow with Visio
- Spot patterns, gaps, and risks in current processes.
- Document pain points or gaps identified while working with process owners.
- Project leadership
- Learn how to create work breakdown structures (WBS) and use project management tools (Visio).
- Create, own, and maintain the project schedule. Deliver work on time.
- Create and maintain project documents (e.g., charter/scope, timeline, process maps, tracker, risk log, and status reports).
- Run project meetings efficiently, capture clear notes, assign action items, track, and follow up accordingly.
- Raise risks to project early and work with leaders to resolve them.
- Complete tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree holder
- 1–2 years of work experience (required).
- 0-3 years of project management experience, business analyst, or project lead experience.
- Available US hours - Monday – Friday 9am (ET) – 5pm (ET) (required).
- Strong people skills; able to work in a matrix environment and influence others at all levels. (required – very important)
- Must be able to ask why to all levels in our work hierarchy (required – most important skill).
- Time management - ability to prioritize work and deliver key initiatives on time (required).
- Take initiative, do not just check the boxes, or follow the script.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (required).
- Experience in using and supporting technology-based solutions (preferred).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (preferred).
- Project leadership experience in a fast-paced environment (preferred).
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with Visio, Power BI, and/or project planning tools (preferred).
- Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives.
