Job Description

The Mission: Modernizing the Dark Matter of Travel

Most travel tech stops at the Book Now button. But for tour operators and their guests, the real journey—and the real chaos—begins after the booking.

Currently, the post-booking experience is a fragmented mess of spreadsheets, PDFs, and scattered messaging apps. Wayloop is changing that. We are an operational and engagement platform that replaces these inefficient tools with a central hub for operators and guests before, during, and after their trip.

The Opportunity: By becoming the central hub, Wayloop unlocks massive secondary revenue streams and significant cost savings through efficiency gains. We use our data to drive high-value conversions at every stage of the journey.

The Role

We're looking for a Technical Junior Product Manager to sit between our customers and our product team. This isn't a QA checklist role. You'll investigate real issues reported by operators and travellers, work out whether they're bugs, config problems, or training gaps, and drive them to resolution. You'll also work directly with our Technical Product Manager to pressure-test new features before they ship, using real operator scenarios rather than a fixed test script.

You'll need enough technical depth to reproduce issues, read logs, and understand how our integrations and App Designer configuration work, plus the judgment to know when something is a genuine defect versus a one-off edge case. This role is being defined as we grow, and how you shape it will directly affect how the team scales support and QA going forward.

Who You'll Be Working With

You'll be joining a small, focused team of doers with deep roots in the travel and startup space:

  • Chris Reed (Founder & CTO): A technical leader with 15+ years of experience building software for travel operations. Chris leads our AI-first engineering strategy.
  • Sophie (Operations): Brings a wealth of experience working with high-growth startups and scale-ups across multiple industries. Sophie ensures our platform is built to handle real-world operational complexity.
  • Kerry (GTM & Strategy): A true travel industry veteran who has held leadership roles at well-known travel companies such as Topdeck. Kerry translates his deep industry knowledge into the product features our partners need.
  • Harry (Technical Product Manager): Brings 18+ years in software product management and business analysis, including co-founding two startups and leading a 30-person engineering team. Harry will be your day-to-day partner on scoping and prioritizing what gets built.
What You'll Do
  • Maintain the Backlog: Help keep the product backlog organized and prioritized, working directly with the Technical Product Manager to groom tickets, tag issues by impact, and keep scope visible as the roadmap evolves.
  • Bridge Support Into Product: Turn recurring support and QA findings into clear, well-documented backlog items, so patterns you're catching firsthand actually shape what gets built next.
  • Triage and Investigate: Reproduce customer-reported issues, isolate root cause, and write clear repro steps for engineering when escalation is needed.
  • Pressure-Test New Features: Partner with the Technical Product Manager to test upcoming features against realistic, messy scenarios (multi-leg itineraries, availability edge cases, integration failures) before release.
  • Diagnose, Don't Just Log: Distinguish between product bugs, operator misconfiguration, and training gaps, and route each to the right place.
  • Support Onboarding: Assist operators with white-label app setup and App Store / Play Store configuration as they go live on the platform.
  • Close the Loop: Own the feedback loop from customer issues back into the product roadmap, spotting patterns rather than just closing tickets.
  • Communicate Directly: Keep operators informed on the status of issues they've raised, in plain, clear language.
  • Build the Process: Build and maintain a lightweight testing process as the product and team grow, without turning into a checklist-only function.
What We're Looking For
  • Product Curiosity: You want to understand not just what's broken, but why it matters and what to do about it. This role is a deliberate path toward product management, not just a support seat.
  • Growth-Minded: Comfortable starting hands-on in support and QA while building toward more ownership over scope and prioritization over time.
  • Technical Support Background: Experience in a technical support, support engineering, or QA role for a SaaS or platform product, ideally customer-facing.
  • Comfortable Under the Hood: Comfortable reading logs, hitting APIs, and understanding integration-level issues, not just UI-level bugs.
  • Strong Written Communication: Able to explain a technical issue clearly to both engineers and customers.
  • Product Judgment: Able to assess severity and impact, not just log defects.
  • Self-Directed: Comfortable with ambiguity — this role is being defined as we grow it.
Working Arrangement & Benefits
  • Permanent Work From Home: This is a fully remote role, no relocation and no office days required.
  • Day Shift: Standard day-shift hours, no rotating or overnight schedules.
  • 15 Paid Leave Days: Paid vacation leave per calendar year, accrued pro rata from your start date.
  • 12 Flexible Public Holidays: Take these on the days that suit you, rather than a fixed regional holiday calendar.
Why Join Us
  • Real Ownership, Early: You'll shape how support and QA works here, not inherit a rigid process someone else already built.
  • Front-Row Seat on Product: You'll work directly with the Technical Product Manager on what ships next, not just what already broke.
  • Disrupt an Industry: Help us replace the spreadsheet and PDF era of travel with a modern, data-driven engagement platform.
  • Seed Stage Upside: Be a foundational member of a team that is redefining the travel experience.
