About the Role

A fintech partner is looking for a curious, analytical, and execution-oriented Junior Product Manager to help build and improve their payment aggregator products. You will work closely with engineering, design, operations, compliance, and business teams to translate customer needs and business objectives into product features that are reliable, secure, and easy to use.

This role offers hands-on experience across the product development lifecycle, from user research and requirements gathering to feature delivery, testing, and post-launch analysis. You will help manage product backlogs, coordinate development activities, analyze user feedback, and identify opportunities to improve customer experience and business performance.

The ideal candidate combines strong organizational skills with analytical thinking, an interest in financial technology, and the ability to work across technical and business teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Product Discovery and Research
  • Research customer needs, market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging fintech solutions.
  • Gather feedback from users, customer support, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Analyze customer pain points and identify opportunities to improve existing products or introduce new features.
  • Support user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and other product discovery activities.
  • Help define user problems, product opportunities, and potential solutions based on research and business priorities.
2. Product Requirements and Documentation
  • Translate business objectives and customer needs into product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Document user journeys, workflows, business rules, and product specifications.
  • Work with design and engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities.
  • Maintain product documentation, feature specifications, and decision logs.
  • Ensure requirements account for relevant edge cases, security considerations, and regulatory constraints.
3. Product Development and Delivery
  • Support product backlog management, prioritization, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to track development progress and resolve blockers.
  • Monitor feature timelines, dependencies, and deliverables to support timely releases.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing, regression testing, and release preparation.
  • Verify that delivered features meet agreed requirements and acceptance criteria.
4. Fintech Product Operations
  • Develop an understanding of the company's financial products, customer journeys, and underlying business processes.
  • Support product workflows related to payments, digital wallets, lending, remittances, financial accounts, or other relevant fintech services.
  • Work with operations and compliance teams to understand customer verification, transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, and other applicable controls.
  • Help document transaction flows, exception handling, reconciliation processes, and customer issue resolution.
  • Consider reliability, data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements when supporting product development.
  • Escalate product issues that may affect transactions, customer funds, or compliance obligations.
5. Product Analytics and Performance
  • Monitor product metrics such as user activation, conversion rates, transaction success rates, retention, and feature adoption.
  • Prepare dashboards and reports to help evaluate product performance.
  • Analyze user behavior and feedback to identify friction points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support experiments and feature evaluations to measure the impact of product changes.
  • Collaborate with data and business teams to translate insights into actionable product recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in product management, business analysis, product operations, fintech, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements and customer problems into clear, actionable documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile product development and software development lifecycles.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and analyzing basic product or business metrics.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Linear, Notion, Confluence, Figma, or similar platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to learn financial products, technical concepts, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working in fintech, banking, payments, lending, insurance, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with digital payment flows, transaction processing, digital wallets, or financial account management.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, integrations, databases, and system workflows.
  • Experience with SQL, product analytics tools, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Familiarity with user research, wireframing, and prototyping.
  • Exposure to fraud prevention, KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), or data privacy requirements.
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-growing technology company.
