Role Description
Pascual Group of Companies, including Accretio Holdings Inc. and its affiliated companies, is looking for a Junior Lawyer to provide comprehensive legal support across the Group's corporate, commercial, regulatory, and general legal matters.
This is a full-time role based in Quezon City,
The Junior Lawyer will work closely with the management, and various internal departments in addressing day-to-day legal requirements and managing potential legal risks. The role will involve a combination of corporate and commercial legal work, legal research and documentation, regulatory compliance, legal advisory, and litigation-related support, including attending court hearings or proceedings when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on Philippine laws, rules, regulations, jurisprudence, and other applicable legal requirements.
- Draft, review, revise, and negotiate contracts, agreements, legal letters, memoranda, policies, affidavits, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice and practical recommendations to management and internal departments on various business and operational matters.
- Assist in corporate governance matters, including preparation and review of corporate documents, resolutions, certifications, and other requirements.
- Support the Company and its affiliates in regulatory compliance and dealings with government agencies and other regulatory bodies.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal and regulatory risks affecting the Group's operations.
- Handle and monitor legal matters, including litigation and other proceedings, and attend court hearings, conferences, and other legal proceedings when necessary.
- Coordinate with external counsel, government agencies, business partners, clients, and other relevant parties on legal matters.
- Assist in the preparation of legal opinions, case assessments, position papers, and recommendations for senior legal counsel and management.
- Review company policies and business processes to help ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain organized records of contracts, legal documents, cases, regulatory submissions, and other legal matters.
- Perform other legal and related functions that may be assigned by senior legal counsel or management.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree.
- Admitted to the Philippine Bar and in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine laws, legal principles, and procedures, particularly corporate, commercial, contract, and regulatory laws.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent ability to interpret and apply statutes, rules, regulations, and jurisprudence.
- Strong legal drafting skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and well-structured contracts, memoranda, legal opinions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with management, internal departments, external counsel, government agencies, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple legal matters and deadlines simultaneously.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive legal and business information.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally, with openness to guidance and mentorship from senior legal counsel.
- Ability and willingness to attend court hearings, meetings, and other external legal engagements when required.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Prior experience in corporate, commercial, litigation, or regulatory law.
- Familiarity with the Philippine corporate and regulatory environment, including dealings with relevant government agencies.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and corporate documents.
- Exposure to litigation, court procedures, or legal proceedings is an advantage.
- Interest in working with and providing legal support to growing and diversified businesses.
