Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
Provide other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people regularly update training manuals, provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues. May resolve problems within established practices.
Functions as a lead worker doing the work similar to those in the work unit responsibility for training, instruction, setting the work pace, and possibly evaluating performance.
Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
Reports directly to Project Manager, or CEO.
Superior communication skills are a must. We constantly test this parameter about our HR, even after hiring.
Supremely organized.
Familiar with traditional procedures (SOPs) corporate IT in the areas of security, networking, workstation/terminal/device management, etc.
Will be tested for familiarity and competence about plain vanilla SME services (managed services for our distributed offices) such as G Suite, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office System, etc.
Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology/computer science
Must have experience in tackling open source programs
Experience related to computer network systems, admin database, and systems security
Specifically with experience with installing and managing systems such as:
Managed services integration or applet experience using platforms such as IFTTT, Zapier, etc.
Operating systems (Chrome, Linux, Unix, custom Android ROM, Chromium, etc.
Managed services, user management systems and related policies (e.g. G Suite, Office 365, Adobe, etc.)
Squarespace, Asana, Slack, T Sheets, Quickbooks, Wix, etc.
All modules in Google Admin (Directory, Devices, Apps, Security, Reporting) and Linux cPanel
Good written and verbal communication skills
Must demonstrate superior SOFT SKILLS during interview with HR
Must be amenable to work in shifting schedules
