The Junior Geologist will play a critical role in identifying and evaluating areas with potential mineral deposits. This role involves conducting research, analyzing geological data, and supporting our acquisition strategies. The ideal candidate must have sufficient knowledge regarding the geology and mineral resources of the Philippines, must have a keen interest in mineral exploration, and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research on geological data and literature to identify regions and home in on specific areas with potential mineral resources. Analyze existing data sets, including geological maps, satellite imagery, and geological reports.
- Assist in field surveys and data collection activities, including sample collection and site assessments, as needed. Will be required to assist in the processing of applications in the acquisition of tenements rights.
- Utilize geological software and tools to interpret data and create detailed reports on mineral potential and feasibility.
- Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing research findings, potential mineral sites, and recommendations for acquisition.
- Maintain Business Development database and keep this up to date and accessible anytime
- Work closely with superiors and other department members to support ongoing projects and research initiatives.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in geology, mineral exploration, and related technologies, and mining regulations pertaining to tenements acquisition.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Geology.
- 3 years of relevant experience, including OJTs or academic research. Some fieldwork experience or research related to mineral exploration is a plus.
- Strong analytical and research skills. Proficiency in geological software (e.g., GIS, MapInfo, etc) is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to project goals.
