Position Summary
Villaraza & Angangco seeks Junior Associates to join its Labor & Employment Department, which advises and represents leading local and multinational corporations on all aspects of Philippine employment law, from compliance and advisory work to complex labor litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft pleadings, position papers, contracts, and legal opinions involving employment disputes, termination and related matters
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on labor standards, employee relations, and emerging workplace policies to support client advisory work
- Represent clients before the NLRC, DOLE, courts, and other government agencies in labor and employment proceedings
- Advise clients on compliance with labor laws, rules, and regulations, including audits, employee discipline, and regulatory filings
- Assist in the planning and execution of company reorganizations, redundancies, and contracting arrangements, ensuring alignment with statutory and jurisprudential requirements
- Support senior lawyers in managing sensitive internal investigations, employee grievance handling, and collective bargaining concerns
- Review and draft employment contracts, policies, and codes of conduct to ensure consistency with company standards and Philippine law
- Contribute to knowledge development through internal research, training materials, and process improvement initiatives within the Labor Department
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from a reputable law school
- Member of the Philippine Bar, or awaiting bar results
- Solid foundation in labor and employment law and relevant jurisprudence
- Excellent legal writing, research and analytical skills
