Solviva is the first venture launched from AboitizPower's 1882 Ventures, a venture studio focused on decentralizing the energy system and creating more sustainable homes, businesses, mobility, and networks.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Project Engineer to lead the technical execution of Solviva's residential solar installations. This role requires strong engineering expertise, project leadership, and client management to ensure consistent quality, safety, and compliance across all projects. You'll work closely with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, solves problems on the ground, and continuously seeks to improve how we build.

Project Planning & Design Coordination

  • Collaborate with Sales, Design, and Procurement teams to align on scope, materials, and timelines before project kickoff.
  • Understand detailed engineering designs, bill of materials, and layouts for solar installations, considering site-specific conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Anticipate project constraints and adjust execution plans accordingly.

Site Execution & Technical Oversight

  • Lead on-site implementation, guiding internal teams and installer partners during construction and installation phases.
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting and technical support to resolve site-level issues.
  • Ensure accurate execution of designs, wiring layouts, and system configurations based on project plans.
  • Oversee commissioning and system testing to confirm performance and readiness.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Implement quality control measures in line with Solviva's requirements to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of installed solar panel systems.
  • Conduct post-installation inspections to verify the proper functioning of equipment and address any issues promptly.
  • Enforce adherence to safety standards and promote a culture of safe work practices on-site.
  • Ensure all installations comply with local codes, utility regulations, and Solviva's quality standards.
  • Coordinate permit applications and inspections as required

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for homeowners and installer partners.
  • Communicate project timelines, risks, and progress updates clearly and proactively.
  • Manage site expectations and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth customer experience throughout the installation process.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain detailed records of installation progress, issues encountered, and resolutions.
  • Generate project close-out reports and document learnings to improve future project execution.
  • Identify recurring technical issues and propose design or process optimizations to reduce future risks.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of Solviva's engineering and installation standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in project execution or site engineering, preferably in solar or related construction industries.
  • Experience in residential or distributed energy projects is a plus but not required.

Technical & Project Expertise

  • Strong understanding of solar PV system design, installation, and commissioning processes.
  • Familiarity with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), structural considerations, and local permitting requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead on-site execution, manage contractors, and ensure adherence to technical plans.

Project Management

  • Highly organized, with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and resolving field issues under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments.

Communication & Client Management

  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills; able to communicate technical information clearly and confidently to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional approach when dealing with homeowners, contractors, and third-party partners.
  • Skilled at building trust, managing expectations, and maintaining composure during high-pressure or field-based situations.
