We're looking for a Jr. Energy Trader who's analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in energy trading.
What You'll Do
As a Jr. Energy Trader, you will support the daily trading operations of SMPC in WESM, ensuring accurate submission of bids, coordinating with system operators, and generating key trading reports. Your work helps optimize plant dispatch and ensures compliance with market rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit generation offers based on trading strategies and plant conditions
- Coordinate daily with WESM, NGCP, customers, and internal teams regarding trading activities
- Ensure generation dispatch adheres to allowable tolerance limits
- Prepare and submit accurate bilateral contract quantity (BCQ) declarations
- Produce complete and error-free daily trading reports
- Monitor EHS compliance and participate in regulatory adherence
- Stay updated on grid conditions, outage schedules, and WESM rules
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or related fields
- With or without experience fresh graduates are welcome!
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Effective communicator with attention to detail
- Able to collaborate with technical and operations teams
- Working knowledge/interest in WESM is a plus
