What you will be doing

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Java Developer to join our growing team in Kuala Lumpur. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of our digital healthcare solutions. You will work closely with our experienced team to support our platform's backend and contribute to the long-term success of WhiteCoat's innovative projects.

On a day-to-day basis, this means you will:

• Develop and maintain Java-based applications and services. This includes writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new features and improvements
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize Java applications to ensure high performance and reliability
• Implement and maintain database structures to support Java applications
• Contribute to technical design discussions and provide input on best practices and industry standards
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in Java development and software engineering
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share knowledge within the team
• Assist in the continuous improvement of our development processes and methodologies

What we are looking for

Required:

• Proven experience in Java development, ideally in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
• Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data) is highly desirable
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and SQL
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

Good to have:

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience in the healthcare industry
