Job Description

This person will be part of a team of experts who are responsible for handling network support, problem management, managing network performance and proactively identifying issues before they become customer affecting.

Duties and responsibilities for this position include the following; however other duties may be assigned as needed for the smooth and continued operations of the company.

  • Drive the innovation and evolution of NTT Global Networks systems and tools.
  • Design and deliver advanced Network Services.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders
  • Translate and interpret between Japanese and English for various business communications
  • Come up with latest and greatest technology ideas and establish proof of concept for the new technologies.
  • Drive aggressive implementation of Network requirements for functionality and quality.
  • Drive infrastructure standards and guidelines, Performance analysis, benchmarking and detailed design of the system.
  • Directly interact with members of the GOC Operations to develop a broad understanding of Network Best Practices.

Skills and Experience

  • Fluency in both Japanese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Own and manage customer issues and see problems through to resolution.
  • Passion for networking, IT or computer science, knowledge of technologies
  • An interest to learn SDN, NFV, SD-WAN, cloud infrastructure technologies, virtualization, virtual switches, virtual routers technologies
  • Good understanding of IT best practices and procedures, like ITIL v3.
  • Strong time management and complex task organization skills

Certifications

  • At least JLPT N3 certification preferred; equivalent language proficiency may be assessed for qualified candidates.
  • Any Network or Security certification is a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • BS Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience desirable
  • Willingness and ability to conduct meetings and field communication outside of normal working hours to accommodate teams based internationally, as needed
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, senior management, staff and vendors
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required
