We are seeking a technically strong Injection Molding/Plastics Engineer with deep expertise in plastics manufacturing, tooling, and automotive-grade quality systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on mastery of injection molding processes, mold qualification, machine optimization, defect troubleshooting, and cross-functional leadership across Engineering, QA, and Planning/Logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead injection molding operations, including process setup, mold/tooling qualification, scientific molding, and machine parameter optimization.
- Manage tooling and mold maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, and spare parts.
- Implement and maintain OEE programs, automation, and robotics solutions.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC).
- Oversee planning and logistics, including Kanban systems, warehouse optimization, and EDI/materials management for automotive production.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred but not required.
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of injection molding machines, resin types (PP, ABS, PA6/66+GF, POM, PC), hot/cold runner systems, mold qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), DOE/scientific molding, and defect troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in tooling, preventive maintenance, automation, and cross-functional team leadership.
