Job Description

The Core Business Delivery department within our IT group is responsible for delivering systems relating to core banking (CASA), remittance, insurance, private banking, card, and ATMs.

As a Technical Lead for our Wealth Management Applications team, you will lead efforts to build solutions and evolve the Engineering Practices to make it easier to use the cloud, improve productivity, and bring observability and reliability to owned systems.

This role will have a Senior Officer rank in the bank.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Core contributor within your team, writing great quality, scalable, maintainable code to improve and develop BDO's Wealth Management platforms and applications.
  • Bring in-depth knowledge of design patterns, architecture and cloud infrastructure to the team and drive engineering quality.
  • Work with multiple teams (including BDO's Singapore and Hong Kong teams) to solve complex technological problems, bring insights and drive application/platform-specific related strategies.
  • Mentor and strengthen Wealth Management applications by improving the ability to deliver great quality of work (both functional and non-functional) and keep the high bar of the craft.
  • Continuously improve code quality, product execution, and customer satisfaction.

Competencies:

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong solution definition, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Technical and Business Communication: Ability to communicate both in technical language with developers and business language with business partners.
  • Application Development: Excellent understanding of interactive application development paradigm, memory management, performance/resource optimizations, database interactions, fault tolerance, monitoring, security, operability of systems, and branching strategies.
  • Cloud Software: Demonstrated experience in GCP, AWS/Azure, and specific tech stacks is required.
  • Knowledge on SDLC: Understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methods and processes, and capability to support project and delivery teams.
  • Good understanding of distributed system fundamentals and ability to troubleshoot issues in an event-driven system setup.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree relevant to the job.
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in building and delivering IT solutions or application development (ex. Avaloq).
  • Demonstrated excellent understanding of Design Principles.
  • Experience with Agile teams, financial services domain and security needs is a plus.
  • Candidate must be willing to work in Makati or Ortigas.
