Position Overview
The IT Director Assistant / Systems Administrator will work directly with the IT Director to help manage and maintain IT infrastructure across multiple companies. The role focuses on systems administration, Microsoft 365 administration, mobile device management, file management, and operational IT projects.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and capable of working independently while supporting strategic IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the IT Director with daily IT operations and infrastructure administration.
- Manage and maintain Mobile Device Management (MDM) across multiple organizations.
- Administer Microsoft 365, including user accounts, licensing, permissions, and security settings.
- Manage file servers, shared drives, SharePoint, OneDrive, and file-sharing permissions.
- Support IT infrastructure projects and operational initiatives.
- Assist with Ignite implementation tasks and ongoing system improvements.
- Manage phone accounts, user provisioning, and other administrative IT responsibilities.
- Create and maintain IT documentation, procedures, and system inventories.
- Monitor system health and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders on IT-related projects.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience as a Systems Administrator, IT Administrator, IT Support Specialist, or similar role.
- Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 (Office 365).
- Hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, Jamf, or similar solutions.
- Experience managing file servers, network file shares, SharePoint, OneDrive, and file permissions.
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft cloud services.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
Preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), and Microsoft Defender.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Ignite technologies and deployment projects.
- Experience managing VoIP systems or business phone accounts.
- Experience supporting multi-company or multi-tenant Microsoft 365 environments.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, security best practices, and identity management.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (MS-900, MD-102, AZ-104, or equivalent) are a plus.
What This Role Is Not
- This is not a traditional help desk or desktop support position.
- The role is focused on systems administration, cloud administration, and operational IT support rather than end-user troubleshooting, printer support, or hardware repair.
