About the Role
We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to provide dedicated support for front-office and back-office trading applications within a fast-paced financial services environment. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for users, ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of business-critical trading systems while coordinating closely with application, infrastructure, and vendor support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-line technical support for front-office and back-office trading applications.
- Monitor application health, identify issues, and proactively respond to incidents affecting business operations.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application-related issues reported by traders, operations teams, and business users.
- Escalate complex issues to development, infrastructure, or vendor support teams and track them through to resolution.
- Communicate system status, incident updates, and resolution progress to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Perform application health checks, system monitoring, and operational support activities to ensure maximum uptime.
- Support application deployments, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Maintain incident logs, problem records, and operational documentation in accordance with support procedures.
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams regarding server, network, database, and connectivity-related issues impacting trading applications.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing, business continuity activities, and production support initiatives.
- Assist with user onboarding, access management, and application configuration requests.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance support efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting front-office and/or back-office trading applications within a financial services, investment banking, brokerage, or capital markets environment.
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes, trading workflows, and financial markets operations.
- Experience with application monitoring, incident management, and production support.
- Familiarity with SQL and database querying for troubleshooting and data validation.
- Knowledge of Windows environments, Active Directory, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience working with ticketing systems and adhering to SLA-driven support environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with business users and technical teams.
