Job Description

The IT Support Intern assists the IT team in providing first-level technical support to end-users through addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues. This internship provides hands-on experience in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and supporting IT systems, while gaining valuable skills in a professional IT environment. The IT Support Intern will work under the guidance of experienced IT professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support Assistance:
    • Assists in responding to and resolving IT support requests.
    • Assists with troubleshooting hardware issues (e.g., computers, peripherals, and accessories).
    • Assists with troubleshooting software issues (e.g., operating system, applications).
    • Assists with network connectivity issues (e.g., LAN, Wi-Fi).
    • Assists with telephony issues.
    • Escalates complex issues to higher-level IT support staff.
  2. System Maintenance Assistance:
    • Assists with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and software.
    • Assists with routine system checks and updates.
    • Assists with the setup and maintenance of peripherals and accessories.
    • Assists in maintaining inventory of IT equipment.
  3. User Support and Training:
    • Assists in providing clear and concise instructions to end-users.
    • Assists users with basic software and hardware training.
    • Assists in creating and maintaining user documentation and FAQs
  4. Customer Service:
    • Provides excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude.
    • Communicates effectively with end-users to understand and assist with issues.
  5. Security:
    • Adhere to IT security policies and procedures.
    • Assists with the implementation of security measures.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related courses
  • Able to commit at least 500 hours (full-time internship)
  • Good communication skills with excellent analytical problem-solving skills
  • Proactive individual with the ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • May require occasional lifting of IT equipment
  • May require occasional after-hours or weekend work for system maintenance or emergencies (with prior notice and supervision)
  • Willing to work Onsite
