About The Job
The IT Senior Application Engineer has extensive skills in operational support, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and stability of critical systems. He/she will enhance system performance by driving automation, optimizing infrastructure, and collaborating closely with development and operations teams to build scalable and resilient solutions.
What You'll Do
- Overall responsible for all the environments that the system resides in.
- Drive system reliability, ensuring uptime and performance align with business-critical processes.
- Proactively monitor system performance using Splunk, Loki, Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, and other observability tools.
- Quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure, application, and network issues. Automate solutions to prevent recurring issues. Participate in on-call rotations for urgent incidents.
- Continuously develop monitoring strategies to ensure high availability
- Design and execute performance tests, analyze results, and identify bottlenecks to ensure the system meets performance requirements.
- Create and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Ansible to ensure timely and high-quality testing and version delivery.
- Develop Disaster Recovery plans to ensure data integrity and system resilience.
- Collaborate with the team to understand requirements and implement appropriate technical solutions.
- Share knowledge to encourage growth within the team. Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
- Follow and suggest improvements to internal processes.
- Stay updated on DevOps/SRE best practices.
What You Need To Have
- 5-10 years working in DevOps, SRE, Application Support, Software Development or similar roles
- Experienced working in a dynamic culture
- Advanced: Linux (including kernel, file systems, process management), Scripting (Shell, Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible), GitLab, Jenkins, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Intermediate: Kubernetes, Ansible, Java-based applications, Oracle Weblogic Server, Eureka, Docker, basic query fundamentals.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, security best practices, and system maintenance and health monitoring.
- Good understanding of SRE & DevOps practices and principles.
- Knowledgeable in Application Development + Support Concepts and Processes
