Job Summary: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Security Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions that protect the organization's digital assets and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, monitoring security events, and responding to threats to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company systems and data.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & System Security:
- Deploy and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, and encryption solutions.
- Monitor systems and networks for security breaches, vulnerabilities, and anomalies.
- Harden servers, workstations, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS) to reduce attack surfaces.
- Ensure proper configuration of security tools and adherence to best practices.
Threat Detection & Response:
- Investigate security alerts and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; coordinate remediation efforts.
- Analyze logs and events using SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel).
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with information security policies, data protection laws (e.g., Data Privacy Act of 2012), and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS).
- Support internal and external audits and risk assessments.
- Participate in the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards.
Security Awareness & Training:
- Conduct phishing simulations and assess employee response readiness.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of security configurations, incidents, and investigations.
- Generate regular reports on security posture, threat trends, and risk levels for management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 25+ years of experience in IT security, systems/network administration, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.) and security technologies (firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS)
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS).
- Experience with vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys), SIEM tools, and endpoint security solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
