About The Job

As a member of the scrum and support teams, the IT SAS Application Senior Specialist is responsible for the operation, administration, maintenance, and support of SAS applications and platforms. The role ensures stable, secure, and performant SAS environments, supports business users, and works closely with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure end to end service reliability of SAS solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for SAS applications (e.g., SAS 9.x, SAS Viya, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS DI, SAS BI).
  • Monitor application health, performance, and availability, ensuring SLAs are met.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application incidents, defects, and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, QA/application specialists and DevOps and other IT functions
  • Support installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of SAS software.
  • Ensure smooth integration of SAS applications with databases, data sources, and upstream/downstream systems.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and database teams to maintain stable environments
  • Support application changes, enhancements, and new feature deployments in line with change management processes.
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives (e.g., SAS 9 to SAS Viya).
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for SAS applications, providing guidance to analysts, data scientists, and business users.
  • Assist users with job scheduling, data processing, reporting, and performance optimization.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and user guides
  • Ensure applications comply with security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement best practices for system stability, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
  • Support audits and risk assessments as required.

What You Need To Have

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting SAS application in an enterprise environment
  • Strong experience with SAS platforms (SAS 9.x and/or SAS Viya preferred).
  • Working knowledge of SAS programming and job execution.
  • Experience with supporting SAS RTDM and ESP
  • Understanding of various logs and setting up logging
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Experience with application monitoring, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of data sources platforms (relational databases, kafka, rabbitMQ, hadoop, files)
  • Understanding devops process
  • Basic knowledge of GIT, Ansible, Kubernetes – using, managing, installing, configuring
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages and file formats (java, python, xml, json, wsdl
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working as a business analyst in an agile environment
  • Familiarity in analysis and modeling tools
  • Post graduate diploma in courses related to IT/ Business Analysis / Process Engineering
  • CBAP/IIBA Certification
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence

  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
