What does an IT Operations Systems Analyst – CMDB and Asset Life Cycle Management do
Sealed Air is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive IT Operations Systems Analyst to own the accuracy, maintenance, and reporting of our hardware asset data within ServiceNow CMDB. Reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Lead, you will ensure hardware inventory across the organization is correctly recorded, regularly audited, and aligned with warranty, refresh, and lifecycle processes. You will build actionable reports, drive data quality across IT support and infrastructure teams, and help the business make informed decisions on hardware replacement, support coverage, and asset health.
Why do we need you
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate hardware asset records in ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring alignment between discovered assets, manually entered items, and operationally active equipment
- Partner with Infrastructure, End User Support, and Service Desk teams to identify, investigate, and correct data inaccuracies, duplicates, or missing asset records
- Monitor hardware assets against warranty and lifecycle thresholds, flagging items due for refresh or nearing end of support
- Build and maintain monthly/quarterly reports on hardware health, age, refresh status, warranty coverage, and compliance metrics for leadership
- Recommend improvements to asset intake, tracking, reassignment, and retirement workflows, supporting automation and data validation within ServiceNow
- Support internal and external audits related to hardware inventory, ensuring traceability, ownership, and disposition tracking
- Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to validate records, update entries, and communicate changes to physical and virtual assets
- Provide data to support regional and global hardware refresh programs, including aging reports and asset categorization
- Maintain internal documentation on hardware asset policies, CMDB practices, and standard operating procedures
What are we looking for in you
- 3+ years of experience in IT asset management, CMDB maintenance, or IT operations with a focus on hardware tracking and lifecycle planning
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and a strong understanding of CMDB tables, asset records, discovery tools, and reporting functions
- Familiarity with IT hardware lifecycle concepts, including warranty coverage, refresh cycles, and end-of-life (EOL) tracking
- Strong attention to detail and data quality, with a methodical approach to investigation and problem resolution
- Ability to build and interpret reports using tools such as ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Excel, or Power BI
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification, experience supporting audits/ITAM policy development, or familiarity with CMDB-discovery tool integrations (e.g., SCCM, Intune, JAMF) is a plus
