Job Description

Ready to take broader ownership of infrastructure and security

You may already be the person your team relies on when there's a difficult network issue, a firewall problem, an access concern, or something in the environment simply isn't working as it should.

You could be a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Administrator, Network & Security Engineer, or already working in a Lead role.

What matters to us is not whether you already have the title.

We're looking for someone who understands infrastructure deeply, can solve problems independently, and is ready to take broader ownership of how Lhoopa's internal technology environment is secured, maintained, and improved as the business grows.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role with room to take progressively broader ownership of infrastructure and security.

What You'll Get to Own

You'll work across the core areas that keep our internal technology environment reliable and secure:

  • Networks, firewalls, VPNs, and office connectivity
  • Google Workspace and cloud application security
  • Identity and access management, including MFA, SSO, and administrator access
  • Endpoint protection, patching, encryption, and device management
  • Backup, recovery, and disaster readiness
  • Infrastructure and security documentation
  • IT vendors and technical solutions
  • Infrastructure and security improvement projects

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage and improve the company's network, firewall, VPN, and infrastructure environment.
  • Strengthen employee and administrator access controls across company systems.
  • Secure Google Workspace and other cloud or SaaS applications.
  • Improve endpoint protection, patching, encryption, EDR, and device compliance.
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure, network, and access issues.
  • Identify infrastructure and security risks and implement practical improvements.
  • Support incident response, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Maintain network diagrams, asset inventories, system documentation, and IT procedures.
  • Work with vendors and assess technical proposals and solutions.
  • Lead infrastructure and security improvement projects from problem identification through implementation.

You'll also have the opportunity to help shape infrastructure priorities, security controls, vendor decisions, technical standards, and the longer-term technology roadmap.

Who We'd Like to Meet

You may be a strong fit if you have at least 4 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, systems administration, networking, or infrastructure security.

We're open to both experienced Leads and strong Senior Engineers who are ready to step into broader technical ownership.

You might currently be working as a:

  • Senior Infrastructure Engineer
  • Senior Systems Engineer
  • Senior Systems Administrator
  • Infrastructure & Network Engineer
  • Senior Network Engineer
  • Network & Security Engineer
  • Systems & Network Lead
  • Infrastructure Lead
  • IT Infrastructure Lead

We're also open to technically hands-on IT Operations Leads or Assistant IT Managers whose experience remains closely focused on infrastructure.

We're particularly interested if you've had hands-on exposure to several of these areas:

  • Network and firewall administration
  • VPN and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Fortinet, Palo Alto, Sophos, Cisco, or similar technologies
  • Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Identity and access management
  • MFA and SSO
  • Endpoint security and EDR
  • Patch and device management
  • Backup and recovery
  • Cloud or SaaS security

You do not need experience with every tool in our environment.

We're more interested in how well you understand the underlying infrastructure and security principles, how you approach technical problems, and how confidently you can improve the environment around you.

You Might Be Right for This Role If...

  • You're already the person others go to when a difficult technical issue needs to be figured out.
  • You like finding the root cause, not just closing the ticket.
  • You've started thinking beyond troubleshooting and want to improve the environment itself.
  • You want broader ownership across infrastructure and security.
  • You still enjoy being hands-on but want more involvement in planning and technical decision-making.
  • You've started leading projects, vendors, or junior team members and want more responsibility.
  • You're looking for a role where your next step isn't just more support, but greater technical ownership.

Nice to Have

Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, Security+, Fortinet, Microsoft Security, CISSP, or CISM are an advantage, but not required.

Practical experience, technical judgment, and problem-solving ability matter more to us than certifications alone.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to move beyond being the person who only reacts when something breaks.

You'll have the chance to influence how the environment is designed, secured, documented, and improved — while still staying close to the technology.

For a strong Senior Engineer, this can be the step into broader ownership and technical leadership.

For someone already operating as a Lead, it offers the opportunity to take real ownership of infrastructure and security while remaining hands-on.
