We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager that is currently or was from the manufacturing sector to oversee the organisation's infrastructure environment and ensure reliable, secure and scalable technology services.
The role will provide leadership across infrastructure operations, cloud services, networks, systems, end-user technology and IT service management. The successful candidate will be responsible for infrastructure strategy, operational performance, technology planning, vendors and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the organisation's infrastructure strategy and technology roadmap.
- Establish infrastructure standards, policies and governance practices.
- Oversee the availability, performance, reliability and security of infrastructure services.
- Lead infrastructure planning, technology upgrades and lifecycle management.
- Manage infrastructure budgets and ensure effective utilisation of technology investments.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure and hybrid technology environments.
- Drive infrastructure automation, monitoring and operational improvements.
- Establish and maintain disaster recovery, backup and business continuity capabilities.
- Oversee incident, problem and change management to ensure service stability.
- Ensure infrastructure security, patching, compliance and risk management requirements are met.
- Provide technical oversight for infrastructure-related projects and initiatives.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and external service providers, including contracts and service-level agreements.
- Lead, coach and develop infrastructure professionals, building technical capability and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, utilisation and service levels, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain appropriate infrastructure documentation, asset records and operational procedures.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders and technology teams to ensure infrastructure capabilities support business requirements.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, including experience in a management or leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure teams and operational environments.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies including networking, servers, cloud, end-user computing and workplace technology.
- Experience developing infrastructure strategies, roadmaps, standards and governance frameworks.
- Experience managing technology budgets and third-party vendors.
- Hands-on exposure to Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365 and/or other major cloud platforms.
- Experience working with hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of IT service management, incident management, change management and ITIL practices.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, automation, observability and/or SRE practices.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Experience supporting technology environments across multiple locations would be advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
