IT Infrastructure Engineer (MSP)

About the Role

Our client is a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be the remote technical backbone for their client environments, responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting advanced network and server infrastructure. You will act as the senior escalation point and project lead for client onboardings, infrastructure migrations, and complex network upgrades, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability across their multi-tenant client base.

A Day in the Life (What You'll Be Doing)

· Remote Deployment & Configuration: Remotely troubleshoot, configure, and deploy network infrastructure—including firewalls, switches, and servers—for new and existing clients.

· Project Execution: Lead the technical execution for client onboardings, infrastructure migrations, and system upgrades.

· Field Engineering Collaboration: Partner closely and effectively with on-site support technicians and field engineers. You will provide clear remote guidance, technical direction, and quality control for hardware deployments and tasks that require a physical presence at the client site.

· Escalation Support: Serve as a high-level escalation resource for complex infrastructure issues that cannot be resolved by Tier 1/Tier 2 support.

Must-Have Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

· Firewall Expertise: Hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and supporting Fortinet (FortiGate), Meraki, and/or SonicWall firewalls in a live production environment.

· Network Infrastructure: Proven experience deploying and managing Ruckus, Meraki, or comparable enterprise-grade switches and wireless networks.

· Systems Administration: Strong working knowledge of Windows Server administration.

· Cloud & Identity Management: Deep experience administering Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, and Intune. Crucial: This experience must be in a multi-tenant or client-facing setting (such as an MSP or consulting environment), not just single-enterprise administration.

· Core Networking: A solid understanding of foundational networking concepts, including routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and TCP/IP fundamentals.

· Advanced Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to work through complex, multi-layered issues independently without a playbook.

· Client-Facing Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate and explain complex technical issues to non-technical business stakeholders.
