Your Role:

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to support queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions.
  • Design and implement current and past Windows server platforms, specifically Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • Manage hypervisor environments, including implementation, tuning, management, and troubleshooting of VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Execute complex migrations, including Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V) and Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) transitions.
  • Administer cloud and messaging platforms, specifically Office/Microsoft 365 and Azure Server implementation and management.
  • Oversee network infrastructure, implementing and supporting VPNs, VLANs, and performing deep traffic and packet-level analysis.
  • Handle core directory and protocol services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP administration.
  • Manage Exchange Server environments from versions 2010 through 2019.
  • Lead IT projects such as setting up new server domains, workstation environments, and troubleshooting high-level technical difficulties.
  • Direct L1 technical staff, managing the helpdesk support process and monitoring tasks to ensure request types (Support, Task, or Project) are handled correctly.
  • Provide advanced technical assistance for incoming queries related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Proactively engage with clients, calling to inquire about system status and offering assistance to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems and resolve issues within Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).

What You Need:
Non-negotiables
  • Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology (IT) or equivalent work experience.
  • Server Expertise: Mid to advanced knowledge in Windows server design, implementation, and platform support (2008-2022).
  • Virtualization/Cloud: Hands-on experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure Server implementation.
  • Networking: Proven experience in LAN/WAN routing and switching, including VPN and VLAN implementation.
  • Infrastructure Admin: Direct experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
  • Messaging: Experience with Exchange Server 2010-2019 administration.
  • Communication: Clear communication skills in the English language, both written and speech.
  • Workstyle: Ability to work independently and collaborate with others on complex IT projects.

Preferred skills/expertise
  • Leadership Ability: Skills in managing helpdesk processes and providing direction to L1 staff.
  • Desktop Support: Knowledge of Windows 10 installation, recovery, support, and maintenance.
  • Hardware Diagnostics: Ability to diagnose hardware issues and advise management on necessary replacements.
  • Storage Knowledge: Familiarity with SAN (Storage Area Network) environments.
  • Soft Skills: Strong customer questioning, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to formulate and implement plans that result in excellent customer service.
