Position Summary

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst supports the Accounting Engineering and Finance organizations by designing, developing, and maintaining data analytics and reporting solutions that enable more accurate and timely financial insights. This role combines technical expertise in Business Intelligence (BI) tools and data management with a strong understanding of finance and accounting processes. The position plays a critical role in Vertiv's ongoing digital transformationimproving data accuracy, reporting speed, and financial visibility across the Americas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Intelligence Development (55%)
  • Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions including databases, data warehouses, Power BI dashboards, and SQL-based reports.
  • Build and enhance ETL processes, stored procedures, and views to ensure clean, reliable financial data.
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex BI systems and data integration issues.
  • Ensure adherence to existing development and change management standards.
  • Research and evaluate emerging BI technologies that support financial reporting efficiency.
  • Internal Customer Support (20%)
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and user-friendly reports and dashboards.
  • Resolve user issues and requests promptly, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth data flow and issue resolution.
  • Internal Communication and Collaboration (10%)
  • Maintain and submit accurate reporting logs, trackers, and project updates.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders on data definitions, report usage, and system changes.
  • Support Finance leadership with data analysis, ad-hoc requests, and management reporting.
  • Participate in meetings, huddles, and cross-functional reviews to share updates and best practices.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for BI tools used within Finance and Accounting.
  • Continuous Improvement (15%)
  • Identify process and data integrity issues; propose corrective actions and improvement plans.
  • Support projects that drive automation, efficiency, or standardization of BI solutions.
  • Contribute to Finance's digital transformation through analytics innovation and system integration.
  • Measure improvement impact in cycle time reduction, report accuracy, and financial insight delivery.
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement teams supporting Vertiv's Operating System (VOS) and BPI initiatives.

Decision-Making Scope

  • Assignments are received in the form of expected results, with freedom to determine procedures and methods.
  • This position operates independently under general guidance, applying professional judgment to deliver accurate and effective BI solutions.

Education and Certifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in information science, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Additional coursework or certifications in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or SQL development.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Business Intelligence analysis or development.
  • Proven experience in database design, SQL development, and data warehouse environments.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI or SSRS.
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing BI reports and dashboards.
  • 1+ years experience in ETL scripting or automation (SSIS, SQL Server, Power Query, etc.).
  • Exposure to finance or accounting data structures is preferred.
