What IT Capability Associate (Bench / Internal Resource Pool) contributes to Cardinal Health

The IT Capability Associate (Bench / Internal Resource Pool) plays a critical role in ensuring the organization

maintains a deployment-ready, future-skilled workforce. While temporarily unassigned to a specific function / project, this role contributes by:

  • Accelerating capability development in high-demand technology areas aligned with the business needs.
  • Maintaining a ready pipeline of skilled resources for immediate function requirement / project deployment.
  • Supporting internal initiatives and innovation efforts that drive operational efficiency.
  • Enabling internal mobility through the i2i Framework Program, strengthening talent retention and career growth.
  • Reducing business risk by ensuring minimal downtime between function / project assignments.

The role transforms bench time into measurable value creation, balancing learning, contribution, and deployment readiness.

Accountabilities

  • Complete assigned technical and functional learning paths within defined timelines
  • Achieve necessary and/or relevant certification aligned with the organizational capability priorities or

business requirements.

  • Actively pursue internal opportunities through the i2i Framework Program and internal job channels.
  • Demonstrate preparedness for function / project deployment through interviews, technical assessment, and readiness evaluation.
  • Contribute to internal projects/programs such as documentation, process improvements, automation, or knowledge sharing.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and capability-building activities.
  • Participate in training delivery or peer mentoring, when applicable.
  • Adhere to organizational attendance and availability standards.
  • Participate in scheduled check-ins, coaching sessions, and program activities.
  • Maintain an updated internal profile (talent card) reflecting current skills and proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Relevant exposure in IT or technology-related internship roles, preferred but not required.
  • Foundational knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
  • IT Service Management
  • Application Development and Maintenance
  • Cloud Platforms
  • Infrastructure Management / Networking
  • Information Security and Risk / Cybersecurity
  • Basic understanding of software development, systems operations, or IT support processes.
  • Familiarity with agile or cross functional ways of working.
