We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst (BA) to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that insurance product enhancements, process improvements, and system implementations are effectively designed, tested, and deployed into our core insurance system.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of insurance operations and product structures (life, non-life, or health) and experience in end-to-end system implementation—from requirement gathering to deployment and post-implementation support.
Must-have qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 to 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably handling IT/system projects.
- Insurance or financial services industry experience, with insurance experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes and products, including policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, renewals, and product structures.
- Experience in end-to-end system implementation, including:
- Requirements gathering and documentation
- Gap analysis
- User stories and acceptance criteria
- System configuration/product setup
- UAT and testing coordination
- Deployment/go-live
- Post-implementation support
- Experience with core insurance systems or policy administration platforms, such as LifeAsia, Guidewire, TCS BaNCS, Oracle Insurance, or similar.
- Experience working as the liaison between business users and IT/development teams.
- Understanding of system integrations, workflows, data migration, and data validation.
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Power BI, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-have:
- Experience with API integrations.
- Working knowledge of SQL and Power BI.
- Experience in business process improvement and automation.
- Background in project management or change management.
- Experience working with cross-functional or regional teams.
- Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Lean Six Sigma, or Agile/Scrum.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business & Product Analysis
- Collaborate with business users to understand product requirements, system limitations, and business objectives.
- Conduct detailed gap analysis between business needs and current system functionalities.
- Document and maintain business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance product offerings and system capabilities.
System Implementation & Integration
- Participate in core system configuration, product setup, and integration with peripheral systems (billing, claims, CRM, etc.).
- Ensure that all new or enhanced insurance products are properly mapped and tested in the system before go-live.
- Support system migration, data conversion, and validation activities.
- Work with developers, QA, and UAT teams to ensure the delivery meets business specifications.
Project Support & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between business units, IT, and vendors, ensuring alignment across all project stages.
- Contribute to project planning, documentation, and implementation timelines.
- Conduct walkthroughs, training sessions, and knowledge transfer to end-users and stakeholders.
- Provide post-deployment monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare regular project and status reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements within the insurance industry.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control of business and system requirements.
