Our client, a premier global financial services provider, is seeking a
Senior IT Business Analyst. Operating within the Global IT Group, this role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business operations and technological solutions across multiple business units. The ideal candidate will combine strong business analysis methodologies with application support expertise, gathering complex system requirements, modeling workflows, and driving continuous improvement across both Agile and Waterfall product lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Elicitation & Process Engineering
- Stakeholder Workshops: Facilitate elicitation sessions and workshops across cross-functional teams to capture comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements.
- Process Modeling: Analyze and model current-state business processes to map complex workflows, identifying process gaps, operational risks, and bottlenecks.
- User Story Creation: Partner closely with Product Owners and SMEs to translate business requirements into clear user stories, functional specifications, and unambiguous acceptance criteria.
- Vendor & IT Alignment: Produce detailed technical specifications for development teams and third-party software vendors to guide application builds, reporting suites, and system enhancements.
Application Support & Quality Assurance
- Operational Alignment: Develop and maintain deep domain knowledge of business rules, ensuring all system documentation complies with legal, operational, and data integrity standards.
- Testing Guidance: Collaborate with QA teams to direct test plans and test case development; assist business stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release management phases.
- Risk Management: Track, manage, and escalate project risks, system dependencies, and operational issues to Project Managers and executive stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Mentorship: Coach and mentor junior Business Analysts in requirement management best practices and industry methodologies.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related business field.
- Professional Tenure: Minimum of 2+ years of experience gathering, reviewing, and analyzing business and technical requirements, ideally within the Financial Services or Alternative Investment sector.
- Methodology Mastery: Practical experience operating in both Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
Technical & Tool Competencies
- Analysis Tools: Proficiency with enterprise collaboration and requirement tracking platforms (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).
- Data & Reporting: Experience or exposure to business intelligence and database reporting suites (e.g., Oracle EBS, SSRS, Business Objects, SQL Reporting Services, or ERP solutions).
- Data Manipulation: Strong skills with MS Office applications (specifically Excel pivot tables, data imports, and executive presentations).
- Certifications (Preferred): Professional BA certification (CCBA, CBAP, or equivalent) is strongly recommended.
