Job Description

Functions and Responsibilities

The role is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and management of business parameters within core telecommunications BSS systems such as Billing, CRM, Order Management, and Product Catalog. This includes configuring products, tariff plans, service bundles, promotions, and business rules based on defined business requirements. The role works closely with Business Analysts and Stakeholders to translate business needs into system configurations, ensuring accurate implementation within the existing BSS framework.

Additionally, the role supports system testing, deployment, and change management processes, while also troubleshooting configuration-related issues in production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. System Configuration & Parameter Management:
  • Configure business parameters, product catalogs, tariff plans, and business processes within core BSS systems (e.g., Billing, CRM, Order Management, Product Catalog).
  • Configure and test new products, service bundles, promotional campaigns, and discount rules in the system based on business requirements. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements for BSS-related projects.

  1. Requirements Implementation & Solution Design:
  • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts and Product Managers to analyze and understand business needs, designing optimal configuration solutions within the existing BSS framework.
  • Translate complex product and tariff schemes into concrete, executable system configuration tasks. Analyze existing BSS systems and processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.

  1. Testing & Deployment:
  • Perform or assist in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for configuration changes in non-production environments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead or participate in the deployment of configuration changes to production, adhering strictly to change management processes.

  1. Issue Diagnosis & Resolution:
  • Perform in-depth analysis and troubleshooting of production incidents and problems related to system configuration, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT BSS Support &Operations team and other teams to resolve system anomalies or business logic errors caused by configuration issues.

  1. Documentation & Knowledge Management:
  • Create and maintain clear, accurate system configuration documents, operational manuals, and best practice guides.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training on configuration-related topics to internal teams (e.g., Support, Operations).

Job Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in configuring, implementing, or operating BSS systems within the telecommunications industry.
  • Deep understanding of core telecom BSS concepts and processes (e.g., Product Lifecycle Management, Order-to-Activation, Billing & Invoicing).
  • Proven hands-on configuration experience with at least one major BSS suite (e.g., Amdocs CES, Huawei CBS@IRC, Oracle BRM/PDC, Netcracker) or in-house developed systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and validation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks (e.g., eTOM, SID) is a plus.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python) to automate configuration tasks is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex business logic and system interactions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all configuration data.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  • Good project management skills, capable of handling multiple configuration tasks simultaneously and delivering on time.
