Job Description
About the Role
The IT Audit Intern will support the Internal Audit team in delivering technology-focused audit engagements and initiatives. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to IT audit processes, risk assessment, and internal control evaluation, while also contributing to analytics and automation efforts that enhance audit effectiveness.
Working under the guidance of the IT Audit Section Head, the intern will assist in data gathering, documentation, and reporting activities, and will be involved in developing dashboards, testing automation scripts, and supporting special projects. The internship offers a structured learning experience that builds technical, analytical, and communication skills essential for a future career in IT audit or related fields.
Responsibilities
Audit Plan Delivery
- Assist in gathering and organizing IT-related data for risk assessment and audit planning.
- Support the development of IT audit programs and working papers.
- Participate in selected IT audit fieldwork activities under supervision.
- Help perform documentation reviews.
- Assist in the preparation of audit findings, observations, and draft reports.
Reporting and Issue Tracking
- Support the preparation of IT audit reports and presentation materials.
- Help track and follow up on outstanding IT audit issues and action plans.
- Assist in compiling documentation for audit committee and management reporting.
Engagement Meetings
- Attend selective meetings and discussions with auditees and internal stakeholders.
- Take notes and assist in documenting key discussion points and action items.
Team and Personal Development
- Participate in internal training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Take initiative in learning IT audit tools, templates, and methodologies.
- Observe and understand the application of IT control frameworks and standards (e.g., CIS, ITIL, ISO, NIST).
Analytics and Automation Support
- Assist in developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, ACL).
- Support automation initiatives by helping document and test scripts or workflows.
- Collaborate with the IT Audit team to identify opportunities for process improvement through technology.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist in updating audit templates and maintaining audit files.
- Support special projects, investigations, or advisory initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Internal Audit team.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree (IT, Engineering, Internal Auditing, or a related field).
Required Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with audit and data analytics tools (e.g., ACL, Power BI, SQL) is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet milestones within time, cost, and quality constraints.
- Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes quickly and capable of multi-tasking.
- Good team player who is committed to achieving results.
- Able to commit to the required internship hours.
- Willing to report on-site at the Pasay office daily.
- Demonstrates reliability and punctuality in meeting work schedules and deadlines.
