Job Description

The IT Application Manager – Peripherals is responsible for identifying, selecting, implementing, configuring, and supporting third-party business applications used across the organization.

The role works closely with business teams, IT, and external vendors to ensure applications are properly implemented, secure, compliant, and fully utilized. A technical IT background with prior hands-on software development experience is required to effectively assess integrations, configurations, technical risks, and system requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Application Planning and Selection

  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes through third-party applications.
  • Gather requirements and prepare business cases covering benefits, costs, and risks.
  • Evaluate solutions based on functionality, technical compatibility, security, compliance, and cost.
  • Support vendor selection, due diligence, contract discussions, and relationship management.

Implementation and Project Management

  • Develop and manage implementation plans, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with business owners, developers, IT teams, and vendors throughout the project.
  • Oversee system configuration, integration, testing, data migration, and production rollout.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues.

Technical and Application Support

  • Serve as the technical and functional subject matter expert for assigned applications.
  • Assess APIs, databases, integrations, data flows, and customization requirements.
  • Configure workflows, access controls, reports, and other application features.
  • Troubleshoot application and integration issues with developers and vendors.
  • Maintain system documentation and provide post-implementation support.

Governance and Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure applications comply with security, data privacy, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Monitor application performance, usage, costs, vendor service levels, and user feedback.
  • Support user training and encourage effective system adoption.
  • Confirm whether expected business benefits are achieved.
  • Recommend upgrades, process improvements, automation, or system replacement when needed.
