Job Summary:
The Application Development Services Head is responsible for providing overall leadership to the Applications Development function of the IT Shared Services Group, managing high-functioning teams in-charge of the delivery of all IT application development and maintenance projects. Leads the Application Development Divisions in defining strategies, roadmaps, and resource allocation to ensure the timely, quality, and cost-efficient delivery of all projects aimed to support the process improvement and digital transformation initiatives of the Bank.
How will you contribute:
- Oversees the successful delivery of IT application development projects and maintenance activities of the Application Development Division (ADD) heads. Monitors all project activities.
- Assists the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Group Head in developing and implementing the IT strategies and plans, providing technical expertise and advice to achieve business goals and delivery of applicable technical solutions.
- Oversees the adoption and implementation of industry best practices in application development, such as Agile, DevOps, and other initiatives, across ADDs. Directs the standardization of practices, processes, and guidelines across ADDs to ensure that the tools, expertise, and skillsets are adopted and acquired as necessary.
- Directs the implementation of IT strategic initiatives involving application development across ADDs within the timelines and budget agreed upon with senior management.
- Reviews and monitors all applications developed and maintained to ensure its alignment with internal architecture and industry standards, whether done internally or by third party providers.
- Provides technical consultancy to various business unit leaders to assess, identify, and recommend appropriate IT solutions addressing short- and long-term business requirements.
- Recommends and implements organizational changes within ADDs to improve the timely and efficient delivery of application services.
- Leads the ADD IT Heads in working with external IT partners and project consultants to provide appropriate and costeffective support services for the Bank's software applications and services. Ensures contractual and license compliance for all software, services and deliverable at all times.
- Works with the ADD IT Heads in implementing the IT Service Level Agreements (SLA) with vendors and ensures these are achieved consistently. Escalates to CTO and Group Head when SLAs are breached and recommends corrective or remedial actions. Actively participates in the vendor/solutions evaluation to ensure that the recommendations are aligned with the Bank's requirement.
- Prepares and submits regular management reports on status of ongoing projects. As necessary, seeks CTO or higher management approval on IT costs/funding needed for approved projects.
- Consolidates and secures approval for the annual budget of ADDs, as well as the budget for specific applications projects.
- Keeps ADDs updated on technology trends and other emerging trends and issues for continuous improvement of IT services and solutions and mitigation of risks and exposures.
- Represents the ITSSG in meetings, presentations, and other undertakings on behalf of the CTO and/or ADD IT Heads.
What will make you successful:
- Graduate of any IT-related field of studies
- With at least ten (10) years of experience in the areas of information planning and systems application design, analysis, development and maintenance work with relevant exposure to banking operations and technologies
- With working knowledge on software development, IT tools and methodology, and banking operations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. People and project management experience.
