Requirements
Certification in medical coding (e.g., CCS, RHIT, RHIA).
Extensive experience in inpatient DRG coding.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines and DRG reimbursement methodologies.
Previous Leadership Or Supervisory Experience Preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage a team of inpatient DRG coders.
Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
Conduct regular audits and provide feedback to improve coding quality.
Train and mentor coding staff on best practices and regulatory updates.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and billing departments to resolve coding issues.
Monitor workflow and ensure timely completion of coding assignments.
Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and implement necessary adjustments.
Develop and implement strategies to improve coding efficiency and reduce claim denials.
