The Investment Officer is responsible for managing the portfolios and liquidity requirements of the company by coordinating with and negotiating financial institutions. The role ensures proper execution of investment transactions, monitors portfolio performance, analyzes market conditions, and provides sound investment recommendations aligned with organizational objectives and risk tolerance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Management
- Monitor investments of assigned company to ensure compliance with approved policies and guideline
- Manage liquidity requirements and recommend appropriate investment strategies
- Negotiate with financial institutions for money market placements and other investment opportunities
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on portfolio performance and investment position
- Address inquiries and resolve investment-related concerns of assigned school
- Conduct market research and financial analysis using internal and external resource
- Develop and recommend portfolio strategies aligned with investment objectives and risk appetite
- Coordinate with external fund managers on investment strategies and market outlook
- Evaluate and select suitable investment instruments, including yield projections and return analysis
- Review financial statements and assess financial health of assigned entities and fund manager
- Perform credit risk assessments and evaluate performance versus benchmarks and guideline
- Prepare reports and presentations, including materials for Board of Trustees meetings, when require
- Conduct client engagement activities, including meetings and presentations for education and servicing
2. Investment Administration
- Assist in structuring and setting up investment agreements with financial institutions and external fund manager
- Prepare and review documentary and legal requirements for all investment transaction
- Ensure completeness and compliance of all transaction-related documentation
- Coordinate with legal counsel and corporate secretaries on investment documentation and approval
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 2–4 years of experience in investment management, treasury, or financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, fixed income instruments, and portfolio management
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
