We are seeking an experienced Investment Manager to lead the evaluation, execution, and management of investments across the energy sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in originating and assessing investment opportunities, leading transaction execution, managing portfolio assets, and supporting the company's long-term investment strategy.
Working closely with senior leadership, the Investment Manager will be responsible for overseeing investments across renewable energy, conventional power, energy transition, utilities, and infrastructure-related assets, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Origination & Evaluation
- Identify, evaluate, and originate investment opportunities across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Lead financial modelling and valuation analyses for potential investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Assess project economics, capital structures, financing arrangements, and risk-adjusted investment returns.
- Prepare and present investment memoranda, business cases, and recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
- Evaluate strategic fit, commercial viability, and value creation opportunities for prospective investments.
Transaction Execution
- Lead end-to-end transaction execution, including acquisitions, divestments, equity investments, project financing, and strategic partnerships.
- Manage commercial, financial, technical, legal, ESG, tax, and regulatory due diligence processes.
- Coordinate negotiations with counterparties, lenders, advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Support transaction structuring and oversee the preparation and review of transaction documentation alongside legal and financial advisors.
- Ensure timely execution of transactions while effectively managing key risks and stakeholder expectations.
Market Research & Investment Strategy
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging investment opportunities across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Conduct strategic market assessments covering renewable energy, conventional power, utilities, energy transition technologies, storage, and related infrastructure.
- Evaluate competitive landscapes, policy developments, and macroeconomic factors impacting investment decisions.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the company's investment strategy and pipeline.
Portfolio Management & Value Creation
- Oversee portfolio company performance against investment objectives and financial targets.
- Monitor operational, financial, and commercial performance of portfolio assets.
- Identify value creation initiatives, operational improvements, refinancing opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Lead portfolio valuation exercises and contribute to periodic investment reporting.
- Support portfolio optimisation through acquisitions, divestments, restructuring, and capital allocation decisions.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, investors, financial institutions, lenders, management teams, government agencies, consultants, and external advisors.
- Collaborate closely with internal finance, legal, technical, commercial, ESG, and operations teams throughout the investment lifecycle.
- Represent the company in meetings, negotiations, and industry engagements where required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- MBA, CFA, CAIA, FMVA, or other relevant professional qualifications are highly desirable.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
- Infrastructure or private equity funds
- Investment banking
