Position Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting of brokerage-related transactions, including local and foreign securities and digital asset activities. The role will ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, compliance with Philippine accounting and tax regulations, and effective coordination with internal stakeholders, auditors, regulators, and service providers.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy
- CPA designation preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in:
- Financial services
- Brokerage or securities industry
- Fintech and Technology-enabled businesses
- Experience with brokerage, investment, digital asset, or cryptocurrency-related
- accounting
- Experience dealing with BIR audits and external auditors.
- Exposure to cross-border transactions, foreign currency accounting, and
- intercompany transactions is preferred.
Technical Competencie
- Strong knowledge of PFRS, Philippine tax regulations, and statutory compliance
- requirements.
- Understanding of revenue recognition, accrual accounting, and financial controls.
- Familiarity with fintech, brokerage, securities, and digital asset business models is
- preferred
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including general ledger maintenance,
- journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with Philippine
- Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
- Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with
- company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate unusual variances.
- Monitor and account for intercompany transactions, recharge arrangements, and
- cost allocations.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment of technology service revenues, operating
- expenses, and shared service arrangements.
Accounts Payable and Treasury Support
- Review supplier invoices and ensure proper recording and approval.
- Manage payment processing and coordinate with banks and authorized signatories.
- Monitor cash positions and prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure proper documentation and accounting of foreign currency transactions.
Regulatory and Statutory Compliance
- Coordinate annual statutory audits and preparation of audit schedules.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with SEC, BIR, LGU, and other regulatory requirements
- applicable to the Philippine entity.
- Maintain corporate and accounting records required for regulatory inspections.
Internal Controls and Process Improvement
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
- Recommend improvements to accounting processes, systems, and controls.
- Support finance transformation and automation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and governance requirements
