Job Summary
- The Investment & Product Strategist provides data-backed market insights, portfolio guidance, and tactical/strategic recommendations for wealth management clients. The role provides fund and data analytics, curates the investment options and ensures products are aligned with house views and client needs. He/she shall integrate macro research, data analytics, and product alignment to support relationship managers (RMs) and investment consultants (ICs). Moreover, he/she shall translate product performance and peer analysis into actionable product recommendations.
How will you contribute
- Formulate and Articulate Investment Strategy: Develop, maintain, and formally communicate the bank's House Views, Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation, and other Investment Themes. This requires close coordination with the various investment counterparties, Chief Economist, internal research teams, and external investment counterparties.
- Data-Driven Portfolio Construction: Design and validate portfolio strategies using data-driven methods, and comprehensive scenario analysis to assess potential risks and returns across various market environments. Analyze portfolio exposures and identify opportunities for asset rotation.
- Investment Product and Strategy Alignment: Collaborate closely with the various investment counterparties and align investment recommendations with the available product shelf, ensuring all advice is deliverable and profitable
- Generate Advisor-Facing Content: Produce high-quality, actionable, and timely content for RMs/ICs to facilitate client conversations.
- Maintenance and Performance Tracking of Model Portfolios (e.g., conservative, moderate, aggressive).
- Development of Strategy Kits (e.g., client-ready slide decks, FAQs, performance metrics).
- Present Views and Train RMs/ICs: Serve as a subject matter expert in internal forums. Present investment views and portfolio updates during regular RM/IC monthly meetings and conduct ad-hoc training sessions to enhance the front-line team's product and market knowledge.
- Real-Time Market Monitoring: Proactively monitor macroeconomic and capital market developments (e.g., central bank actions, policy changes, earnings releases) and provide real-time updates and urgent positioning changes to RMs/ICs.
What will make you successful
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field. CFA or equivalent professional certification (e.g., CAIA) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Investment Strategy, Portfolio Management, Product Strategy, or Research within a Financial Institution (e.g., Private Bank, Asset Management, or Wealth Management).
- Deep understanding of global financial markets, portfolio theory, and multi-asset investing.
- SEC Fixed Income Market Salesman (FIMS) is preferred
