Job Summary
- The position is responsible for providing investment consultancy services for RCBC Trust Corporation's investment management clients. This includes assistance in identifying the unique investment goals of the client and formulating investment strategies that will serve as basis for instructions on tactical asset allocation and security selection which will be forwarded to RCBC TC for trade execution. In addition, the position may act as a portfolio manager for selected discretionary accounts and will serve as decision makers on trade ideas based on their professional judgment of the goals, restrictions, and objectives of the client vis-à-vis current market conditions.
How will you contribute
- Works with clients to assist them in the following:
- Identifying unique investment goals and potential restrictions
- Formulating investment strategies and suitable investment outlets
- Analyzing portfolio performance using RCBC TC generated financial statements and portfolio reports on a regular basis or as requested
- Recommending adjustments to client investments over time as dictated by changing market or client conditions
- Decision making for selected discretionary accounts
- Handling the management and administration of select retail trust and investment management accounts identified as special handling accounts, in accordance with the guidelines set by the client, internal policies, and regulatory restrictions
- Conducts research and analysis to provide the following:
- Research reports and discussion materials for clients and internal partners
- Recommend investment outlets and services for accreditation by the Credit unit
- Adapt current investment strategy to changing market conditions
- Communicates openly, consistently, and honestly with relationship managers and clients about market trends, investment outlets, and possible catalysts that may impact on the clients total investment portfolio and strategy.
- Contributes to the division's volume and revenue targets through quality service to clients that enhances the image of the Group, referral of new trust clients that generate additional fees, and new investment outlets that can be marketed to clients
- Provides training to the Relationship Managers, Estate Planning Lawyer, Assistant Relationship Managers and Relationship Management Assistants on various market and investment related developments.
- Ensures compliance with the bank's policies as well as various laws and regulations to achieve satisfactory audit rating.
What will make you successful
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
- Preferably currently taking or has completed any of the following: the Trust Certification course, CFA Charter, MBA degree, or other related investment certifications
- Working knowledge of various investment markets and products (i.e. money market, equities, bonds, deposits, foreign exchange, derivatives)
- More than 3 years experience in a finance position or investment management is preferred
