Inventory Cost Controller

Role

Purpose Provide analytical and business support on costing and inventory:

Developing costing models and generating/updating standard costs for locally manufactured and imported products.

Controlling and coordinating new product cost requests and maintaining relevant material master data.

Performing costing variance analysis and supporting analysis/control for all product costs and opex items as required.

Ensuring accurate, timely financial insights to enable informed decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Costing & Data Management: Develop and update costing models; value inventory and corresponding product costs quarterly/monthly depending on requirement; maintain material master data for accuracy.

New Product Costing: Allocate and track new product cost requests; maintain a central register for transparency.

Performance Reporting: Communicate cost and efficiency performance to Operations; provide actionable insights for improvement. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory-related financial impacts; ensure compliance with internal policies and standards; ensure accuracy of floor vs books inventory; influence reduction in non-saleable stocks Opex Analysis: Support analysis and control of operating expenses where required. Audit and Compliance requirements: Support internal and external audit and compliance requests and deliverables.

Month-end close: Review of COGS entries and related calculation from Finance Service Hub, initiate Opex accrual as needed and confirm final balances.

Qualifications

Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain.

Proficiency in ERP system (JDE) and strong analytical skills.

Ability to manage complex data; proficient excel skills preferred

Experience 3+ years experience in costing, inventory control, or operational accounting (dairy/fmcg experience an advantage).
