To provide technical translation and interpretation support between Chinese and English for engineering teams on dams and hydropower projects, ensuring accurate communication of technical, safety, and compliance-related matters throughout all project phases.
Responsibilities:
- Translate and interpret HSE strategies and plans in both languages
- Support implementation of HSE measures on-site
- Ensure understanding of HSE expectations by all stakeholders
- Coordinate with HSE leads to localize content
- Participate in HSE briefings as interpreter
- Interpret monitoring reports and compliance documentation.
- Assist audits and inspections as language bridge
- Help identify compliance gaps
- Support preparation of bilingual compliance reports
- Coordinate with Chinese-speaking stakeholders
- Translate training materials (manuals, SOPs)
- Provide live interpretation during workshops
- Support Q&A sessions and safety drills
- Ensure technical accuracy in translations
- Coordinate feedback from participants
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydropower, or similar.
- Professional fluency in Mandarin and English
- 5+ years of experience in hydropower or dam projects
- 2+ years of technical interpretation (ChineseEnglish)
- Familiarity with engineering project documentation standards
- Fluent in Chinese and English (written and verbal)
- Understanding of engineering drawings and specs
