Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement a 3–5 year logistics development strategy aligned with business growth, market expansion, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Establish regional logistics roadmaps covering warehousing, transportation, customs, and digital transformation.
- Conduct regular strategic reviews and adjust plans based on market dynamics, risk factors, and operational performance.
- Benchmark logistics capabilities against global industry leaders (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu) and propose improvement initiatives.
2. Warehouse Management & Optimization
- Lead national and regional warehouse network planning for finished goods, parts, and spare components.
- Optimize warehouse layout, capacity utilization, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive implementation and enhancement of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to support automation and real-time visibility.
- Conduct benchmarking analysis against industry standards and deliver performance improvement reports with actionable recommendations.
- Ensure strict adherence to standardized warehouse SOPs and quality control frameworks.
3. Transportation & Distribution Management
- Design and optimize national and regional transportation networks, including trunk lines and last-mile distribution.
- Manage carrier selection, performance evaluation, and contract negotiations to ensure cost-effectiveness and service reliability.
- Improve transportation lead time for main equipment and spare parts through route optimization and load consolidation.
- Monitor transportation KPIs and implement corrective actions for delays or inefficiencies.
4. Customs & Trade Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with import/export regulations for equipment and spare parts across all operating countries.
- Oversee customs clearance processes to minimize delays, penalties, and compliance risks.
- Analyze international trade policies, tariffs, and regulatory changes to identify risks and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop proactive strategies to optimize tariff structures and cross-border logistics efficiency.
5. Logistics Cost Management
- Develop annual logistics budget and ensure strict cost control across warehousing, transportation, and customs operations.
- Monitor logistics cost per unit and overall logistics cost ratio, ensuring continuous cost reduction initiatives.
- Identify cost inefficiencies and implement lean logistics practices to improve financial performance.
6. Logistics Systems & Digital Transformation
- Drive implementation and integration of logistics IT systems including TMS, WMS, SAP, and transportation visibility platforms.
- Improve end-to-end supply chain visibility through digital tools and data analytics.
- Promote automation, process standardization, and data-driven decision-making across logistics functions.
- Ensure system accuracy, data integrity, and user adoption across regions.
7. Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing logistics teams across multiple regions.
- Define organizational structure, workforce planning, and capability development strategies.
- Conduct performance evaluation, coaching, and training programs to strengthen operational capabilities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
8. Process Standardization & Implementation
- Design and implement standardized logistics processes including:
- Customs clearance workflows
- Overseas warehousing operations (inbound, outbound, transfer, inventory control)
- Domestic and international transportation procedures
- Ensure consistent execution of SOPs across all regions and continuously improve process efficiency.
- Lead process audits and compliance checks to ensure operational discipline.
9. Performance Management & KPI Tracking
- Establish and monitor key logistics performance indicators, including:
- Customs clearance timeliness and compliance rate
- Delivery and transportation lead time
- Warehouse accuracy and inventory consistency
- Order fulfillment cycle time
- Analyze performance gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide regular performance reports to senior management with insights and recommendations.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or related industry.
- Proven experience managing at least two of the following functions: warehousing, transportation, or customs operations.
- Experience leading logistics transformation projects, system implementation (WMS/TMS/SAP), or regional operations is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of logistics systems (WMS, TMS, SAP or equivalent platforms).
- Solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations and international logistics processes.
