Role Purpose/ Objective:
To independently and objectively examine, evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance processes of the bank.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing inputs to the annual audit plan, risk assessment, submission and monitoring of monthly and quarterly reports to Group Audit - HK
- Determine any issues for various departments, through use of off-site tools for analysis (for example reports from the system), so that issues can be highlighted and resolved on a timely basis
- Work according to the audit missions, develop specific audit programs: collation, research and analyze related data and conduct on-site inspections
- Prepare work papers and assist in the preparation of the internal audit reports for each mission, which will be reviewed and approved by the Head of Internal Audit and/or Internal Audit Manager
- Participate in the follow-up of outstanding issues and resolution actions in relation to pending recommendations from internal and external control functions (including regulator and Group Audit inspections)
- Communicate to the Internal Audit Manager/Head of Internal Audit the internal audit function, regulators, internal departments and management, results of internal audit work according to their requirements
- Execute proper documentation and filing of audit missions, in accordance with applicable Standards for The Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
- Execute proper depository of information in Internal Audit folders, in relation to local regulations
- Provide inputs in the update of internal audit policies and procedures in accordance with the internal audit plan
- Assist Group Auditors with their onsite and offsite examination of the Branch including their conduct of thematic audits and special reviews.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Internal Auditing, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- At least 3-5 years of experience in the regular audit (internal or external) of a Universal Bank or Commercial Bank as auditor-in-charge, senior auditor or audit manager.
