We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Accountant (Intermediate level and above) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is technically capable, eager to learn, and values accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement.
You will be involved in end-to-end tax and accounting work for a range of clients while also leveraging modern tools and AI to improve efficiency and output quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts, and self-managed superannuation funds
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other state tax obligations such as payroll tax and land tax
- Conduct tax research and assist in drafting tax advice for managers and partners
- Liaise with the ATO, OSR, clients, and external professionals to ensure timely and accurate completion of work
- Use AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot, and other automation platforms) to improve accuracy, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity across accounting and tax tasks
What We're Looking For
- Some experience in an accounting or tax-related role (Australian accounting firm experience is an advantage but not mandatory)
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field
- Strong proficiency in cloud-based accounting tools including Excel, Xero, XPM, and MYOB (FYI is a plus)
- Comfortable and open to using AI tools to enhance research, efficiency, and problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality output
- High level of integrity, strong work ethic, and a proactive mindset
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and continuously improve
- CPA qualification is preferred but not required
