As an Intermediate SMSF Accountant, you are a specialist in one of the most technical and rewarding sectors of Australian accounting. You won't just be doing the books; you will be managing the financial heartbeat of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, ensuring that retirement savings are protected, compliant, and optimized for our Australian partners.

Your Impact

• Master of SMSF Compliance: Take full ownership of the annual lifecycle for a portfolio of funds. You will prepare annual financial statements, tax returns, and all necessary compliance documentation, ensuring every fund remains in the good graces of the ATO and the SIS Act.

• Precision Transaction Processing: Navigate the complexities of fund operations, including member contributions, pension payments, and diverse investment types. Your technical oversight ensures that transaction processing is seamless and accurately reflected in the fund's records.

• Strategic Collaboration: Work as a key technical resource alongside senior accountants and Australian client managers. You'll help resolve complex queries and deliver high-level reporting that provides clear visibility into fund performance and regulatory standing.

What You Bring

• The Experience: Minimum 4+ years of dedicated SMSF accounting experience within an Australian accounting firm. You have a proven track record of bringing funds to the finalization stage independently.

• Technical Mastery: Deep, working knowledge of the SIS Act, ATO requirements, and broader SMSF compliance standards.

• The Toolkit: Hands-on proficiency with industry-leading SMSF administration software such as Class Super, BGL (Simple Fund 360), or similar platforms.

• Core Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. You are a self-starter who can meet strict Australian lodgment deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
