About the Role

Go further with SMSF expertise by supporting an Australian firm spanning accounting, taxation, assurance, wealth, and financial advisory services. The Intermediate SMSF Accountant helps protect compliance quality and reliable client outcomes through technically sound superannuation accounting. The Qualifications We Seek

• Minimum of 3 years of SMSF experience
• Experience with cloud-based systems, particularly Class Super, preferred
• Experience working for an Australian accounting practice
• Excellent technical knowledge of Australian tax and accounting compliance, with a primary focus on superannuation legislation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to review email communications, queries, and advice for Australian advisers
• Exceptional time and project management skills
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills focused on improving service quality
• Proactive commitment to individual and wider team technical development
• High level of personal maturity

Your Daily Tasks

• Apply strong technical knowledge of Australian tax and accounting compliance, with a primary focus on superannuation legislation
• Prepare and collate documentation for audit
• Ensure adherence to client systems and procedures covering file management, file notes, file retention, and file security
• Review email communications, queries, and advice before submission to Australian advisers
• Participate proactively in individual and wider team technical development
• Manage time and projects effectively to meet service requirements
• Apply sound problem-solving and decision-making skills to improve the quality of services provided
