As an Intermediate Bookkeeper, you will step into a highly critical, multi-entity role that sits at the intersection of complex payroll operations and daily financial maintenance. This position is built for a reliable, process-driven numbers person who loves the precision of end-to-end payroll cycles and subcontractor management. Working within the construction and manufacturing space, you will ensure data flows seamlessly across project management tools and core accounting ledgers, keeping the group's operational engine perfectly tuned.
Your Impact
End-to-End Payroll Administration: Process full-cycle payroll for all staff across the group of companies, maintaining absolute accuracy for employee entitlements, leave balances, and superannuation obligations under a single payroll business entity.
Multi-Entity Subcontractor Management: Manage and dispatch subcontractor payments across three separate trading entities spanning the construction and manufacturing sectors, keeping vendor relationships strong and compliant.
Daily Ledger Maintenance: Take ownership of daily general bookkeeping tasks using Xero. You will handle high-volume accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and general ledger integrity.
Workforce Tech Synchronization: Utilize and maintain critical operational data within specialized workforce management platforms, including Alloc8, Innergy, and Monday.com, to ensure tracking aligns with financial reporting.
Compliance & Collaboration: Partner with cross-entity management and team members to resolve payroll queries quickly. Act as a primary safeguard for payroll legislation compliance, ensuring all entries meet strict statutory obligations.
What You Bring
The Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll and/or bookkeeping role. Prior experience navigating an Australian construction or manufacturing business environment is highly preferred.
Software Mastery: High proficiency in Xero (specifically the payroll and bookkeeping modules) and the Microsoft 365 Suite (Excel, Word, Teams). You possess a proven ability to learn and adapt to external operational platforms like Alloc8, Innergy, and Monday.com.
The Credentials: Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Payroll Administration (or equivalent real-world experience). Holding a Xero Payroll Certification is a major advantage.
The Mindset: A highly organized professional who practices absolute discretion and confidentiality with sensitive payroll data. You have an uncompromising eye for detail, superb data-entry accuracy, and the stamina to meet strict deadlines across multiple entities.
Communication Prowess: Excellent verbal and written English skills, allowing you to collaborate seamlessly within a remote team environment and manage employee payroll inquiries professionally.
