Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Insurance Specialist to take ownership of the operational

quoting, to implementation and claims management. This is a hands-on role for someone who

enjoys managing complex workflows and helping advisers deliver high-quality insurance

outcomes for members by dealing directly with insurers, our members and our

Paraplanners/Advisers.

This is not a purely administrative position. You'll become a key part of the insurance advice

process and play a central role in ensuring recommendations are implemented accurately,

efficiently, and professionally.

The Role

You'll manage the end-to-end insurance workflow across four key areas:

  • Prospect management & pre-assessments
  • Insurance needs analysis support & risk research
  • Insurance implementation & underwriting
  • Claims management

You'll work closely with Advisers, Paraplanners and Member Assist while also acting as a

key liaison with insurers and underwriting teams.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in life insurance within financial advice
  • Strong understanding of Australian retail insurance products
  • Familiarity with underwriting and claims processes
  • Understanding of superannuation ownership structures preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience with CRM/workflow systems
  • Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines independently

Key Responsibilities

Prospect & Pre-Assessment Management

  • Review insurance questionnaires and identify underwriting concerns
  • Coordinate insurer pre-assessments
  • Liaise with insurers regarding medical, occupational and financial disclosures
  • Track and manage outstanding requirements
  • Prepare underwriting summaries for Advisers
  • Maintain accurate CRM and workflow records

Insurance Needs Analysis & Risk Research

  • Assist in preparing insurance needs analysis calculations
  • Research and compare insurance providers and policy structures (Risk Researcher)
  • Analyse product definitions, occupation classes, underwriting philosophies and
  • pricing
  • Prepare adviser-ready comparison reports and quote modelling
  • Coordinate handover to Paraplanning for SOA preparation

Insurance Implementation & Underwriting

  • Manage insurance applications from signed SOA through to policy commencement
  • Coordinate medical requirements, financial evidence and insurer requests
  • Liaise with members throughout underwriting
  • Manage altered terms offers and policy amendments
  • Confirm policies are correctly implemented and in force
  • Deliver policy schedules and welcome communications
  • Maintain file compliance and document management standards

Claims Management

  • Notify insurers and coordinate claims lodgements
  • Pre-complete claims documentation for members where possible
  • Manage follow-ups and outstanding requirements
  • Liaise with claims assessors and medical providers
  • Keep Advisers and clients informed throughout the claims process
  • Confirm when benefit claim has been processed

This role offers the opportunity to become a genuine specialist within a growing insurance

division, with meaningful involvement across strategy implementation, underwriting and

claims support.

To apply, please send your resume and a short cover letter outlining your experience in

insurance and financial advice support.
