Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates in coordination with the IM Advisor the establishment and implementation of an effective insurance program for the Company's insurable risks on commercially reasonable terms, as a key risk transfer tool and in accordance with EDC's risk management program;
- Provides expert advice on projects, contracts and other transactions as they relate to insurance, risks and related matters;
- Ensures the implementation and administration of key insurance policies of the Company;
- Facilitates the Company's insurance claims to ensure that claims are promptly notified, filed, documented, adjusted, settled and paid. This includes close coordination with internal resources as well as external parties such as the insurers, reinsurers, brokers, adjusters and consultants;
- Manages the annual risk surveys across all facilities that are conducted by the insurers risk surveyors.
- Manages the conduct of appropriate orientations and seminars, as needed, on insurance policies, terms and conditions and claims handling
- Coordinate with the IM Specialists in preparing and presenting insurance reports, including risk assessments, claims status, and cost-benefit analyses, to the Insurance Advisor.
- Submit to the IM Advisor opportunities for process improvements, automation, and cost-effective insurance solutions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Management, Engineering/Risk and Insurance Management degree is an advantage.
- At least 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, particularly in underwriting or processing of claims. Experience in handling energy risks is an advantage.
- Has attended any basic non-life insurance course
- Has strong analytical skills
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and Google Workspace applications
