Position Summary
Support the design, development, and maintenance of technical training content for Vertiv's Power Services product lines.
This role primarily focuses on content development and production based on course designs and plans created by senior Instructional Designers. The Instructional Designer will build instructor-led materials, virtual content, eLearning modules, assessments, and supporting job aids that prepare field service associates and customers for real-world performance.
The position works closely with the Power Services Instructional Design team, instructors, and program manager to ensure content is accurate, aligned to standards, and delivered on schedule.
Responsibilities
Content Development and Production
- Develop learning materials across multiple delivery modes including instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, eLearning, videos, job aids, and assessments based on established course design plans.
- Build and format technical training content using approved templates and standards.
- Create and update presentation decks, facilitator guides, learner workbooks, and assessments.
- Incorporate technical updates, change notices, and safety revisions into existing materials.
- Support the development of lab documentation and structured exercises as directed by senior Instructional Designers.
- Ensure consistency in formatting, branding, and learner experience across Power Services training programs.
Project Support and Collaboration
- Support senior Instructional Designers on assigned projects by executing content development tasks.
- Attend project meetings and cross-functional discussions as needed.
- Collaborate with instructors and subject matter experts to clarify technical details and ensure content accuracy.
- Work within established timelines and communicate progress to project leads.
- Participate in internal review cycles and incorporate feedback into final deliverables.
Course Maintenance and Continuous Improvement
- Assist with maintaining course materials in a structured and version-controlled manner.
- Update training assets in alignment with product updates and engineering revisions.
- Review learner and instructor feedback and support content updates as directed.
- Help modernize and improve existing content under the guidance of senior team members.
Administrative and Team Support
- Maintain organized documentation of project files and development assets.
- Support publishing of finalized content to the Learning Management System.
- Contribute to team initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of professional experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or training content creation.
- Experience developing eLearning, instructor-led materials, or technical training content.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and formatting consistency.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Experience using training development tools such as Articulate Rise 360, Adobe Storyboard, Canva, Vyond, Camtasia.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (Docebo).
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, deadline-oriented, global work environment.
- Sound understanding of adult learning theory and models (ADDIE).
- Passion and interest in developing people.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field preferred.
- Certifications in Instructional Design or eLearning Development preferred.
