Role Description
The Inpatient Coding Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Mandaluyong, with a combination of on-site work and approved work-from-home arrangements. This role oversees inpatient coding operations, ensuring accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM/PCS and other relevant codes in compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing coding workflows, monitoring productivity and quality, providing feedback and coaching to coders, and addressing coding-related queries from clients and internal teams. The Inpatient Coding Manager will collaborate with clinical documentation improvement, billing, and compliance teams to resolve discrepancies and support clean claim submission. Additionally, this role is responsible for training staff on coding updates, implementing best practices, and contributing to process improvements that support Coronis Health's revenue cycle management goals.
Qualifications
- Strong inpatient coding expertise, including ICD-10-CM/PCS and other relevant classification systems, with a solid understanding of DRG assignment and reimbursement methodologies.
- Experience supervising or managing coding teams, including workload allocation, performance monitoring, coaching, and mentoring.
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management, hospital billing processes, payer rules, and regulatory requirements related to inpatient services.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR), coding software, and related health information systems for documentation review and coding.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret clinical documentation and resolve complex coding or billing issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with coders, clinicians, and cross-functional RCM teams.
- Relevant coding certification such as CCS, CPC, CIC, or equivalent; additional health information management credentials are an advantage.
- Previous experience in an inpatient coding leadership role within a hospital or healthcare RCM environment is highly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup, maintaining productivity, confidentiality, and data security both on-site and from home.
